With hundreds of top youth swimmers packed into competing events for the Come Up For Air swim tournament in Lake Tahoe on Saturday, July 23, Oakdale’s Emily Bennett stepped up to land impressive finishes against the talented field.
Bennett, a standout member of Stanislaus Aquaticz, won four first place finishes and landed second place overall in the high-point standings for her 11-12 age group. She improved several of her best times and qualified for Junior Olympics in several races.
Bennett earns an Athlete of the Week nod from The Leader for her big swims against stiff competition.
