Girls Soccer Searching For First VOL Win

Oakdale High School girls soccer team played all three Manteca schools to start their 2018-2019 Valley Oak League campaign. The Lady Mustangs went 0-3-0 against them.

This past week Oakdale traveled to Manteca to take on first place East Union where the Lancers defeated Oakdale 4-1. In the win Emily Takaki scored the team’s lone goal from an assist by Daniela Dela Riva.

Following the loss Oakdale had their Valley Oak League season home opener. The girls fell to Sierra by a 7-1 final. The Lady Mustangs held their ground in the first half. Oakdale scored their lone goal of the game when Brianna Montoya found Jade Manriquez early in the first half. Freshman Lindsay Lumm had a very busy day in the net as she had nine saves against the visiting Timberwolves.

Oakdale will take the next few weeks off during the holiday break. When they return to action they will travel to Stockton on Friday, Jan. 4 to take on Weston Ranch. The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

 

JUNIOR VARSITY

Following a 2-1 road loss to East Union, Oakdale’s young Lady Mustangs bounced back with a 3-1 home win over Sierra. In the win, Oakdale never trailed and scored two goals in the first half. Jessel Juarez scored the first goal and Makayla Notaro scored two goals for Oakdale. This was the team’s first win of the season.

In their road loss to East Union, Lauren Schickert scored the team’s lone goal.
