Project Success Seen

Dear Editor,

On Saturday, April 6th I witnessed something from our community that made me proud to be the Mayor of Oakdale. Citizens from not only our city but also surrounding cities came together to give back and help others in need without hesitation. Over 270 volunteers made Love Oakdale successful. There were many projects that helped those that have no family locally that are disabled and sick, along with our veterans and seniors. Church groups, various organizations and individuals came out and happily gave their time. I saw tears from seniors who were overwhelmed with emotion and grateful for the hard work these volunteers did for them. All of this was possible because of the great Love Oakdale committee. They have given up many hours of their personal time over the last four months to organize this event. Every single person who participated made a difference in someone’s life on Saturday. Thank you.
