Parents Offer Outstanding Support

Dear Editor,

There is an amazing group of parents walking the halls of the Valley Home Elementary School. On October 24th, they hosted the annual Harvest Festival for all to enjoy. This festival included a silent auction, dinner, and lots of fun and games. After an event that takes so much time to pull together you would think a break would be in store before the next gathering; not so in this case.

On Saturday, November 14, they will be hosting the “Double Barrel Pancake Breakfast” starting at 6:00 am. They will be cooking up breakfast for all of the family at a price that cannot be beat. This is only the second of many fundraisers to come. Following this event will be the Christmas Tree Gala. This event will be held on Friday, December 4th from 6-11 p.m. at Gene Bianchi Community Center. It is an adult evening centered around raffling off 10 beautifully decorated Christmas trees. The parents and volunteers involved in this event have done everything to insure an unforgettable evening. In addition, you can win a tree and gifts for the cost of a raffle ticket! For more information, please visit the Parent Teacher Club page of the Valley Home School District website at http://www.vhjsd.k12.ca.us/parents.cfm. Tickets are still available.

It is so great to see such a wonderful change in our little school. Being a small school district it is fundraisers such as these that make it possible to bring in assemblies, buy playground equipment, sponsor field trips, and offer many more activities to our students that would not be possible otherwise. I would like to thank all of the local businesses, parents, and volunteers that continue to support us and make our events great.
