Dear Editor,
The Arnold Silva family wishes to thank all the family and friends who visited Arnold in Oak Valley Hospital from April 21 until he passed away on May 6. We greatly appreciate all of your prayers, flowers, plants, gifts and food.
We are very thankful for the extraordinary work and great compassion of the ICU nurses at Oak Valley Hospital (Leslie, Jodi, Tom, Patsi, David, Tunisha, and Scott), the wonderful respiratory therapists, especially Tom, the lab technicians, especially Annie DeSimas Davis, Diane Alcorn and everyone in dietary, Denise Solansky in medical records, the admitting staff, Maria, Patty, and Patty, and ER physician Dr. Boggs for his consoling and wise words. We offer special thanks to Dr. Mahida, Arnold’s family physician, who showed great compassion to and provided excellent care for Arnold and who was always there for him no matter the time of day.
We wish to thank Mary Ann Heath for all the wonderful food she sent to the family from our town treasure, Moss Rose Bakery, and also for the love and care she has shown to our whole family for many years.
Thanks to Richard Davy of Oakdale Memorial Chapel for his assistance during this very difficult time for the family. A very special thank you to everyone from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, especially Diane Lewis, our mass celebrant Father Tony, all of the concelebrants, Deacon Tom and his wife Sherrill, and our six altar servers.
The Arnold Silva family feels most blessed to be part of such a caring and supportive community in Oakdale and we thank everyone for their love and friendship during this time of great loss and sadness. Arnold was a devoted family man who cared deeply for his friends in the Oakdale community. Thank you for honoring him.
