Dear Editor,

Our election is coming soon! You need to be prepared with facts. The school board has been successful in accomplishing many projects — completion of building facilities, maintaining a sound budget, maintaining a high quality teaching staff and administration at each campus. It is important we keep our vision (goals) strong even though we have had financial budget cuts with our state economics.

I am encouraging you to vote for William (Bill) Dyer, Trustee for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District. He has served on our governing board for over eight years, voted wisely, introduced new ideas, made wise choices, set goals and followed through.

He is a community person of 51 years. His past leadership involves Boy Scouts, Little League coach, Instructor Auto Tech at Oakdale High School, (37 years) Oakdale Lions Club, Coordinator ROP program, Stanislaus Co. Commissioner Juvenile Justice Commissioner, 22 years; Stanislaus Co. Sheriff’s Division School Attendance Review Board member (16 years), Oakdale Senior Center Foundation Treasurer 9 years, MJC School to Career Grant Program Field Coordinator (three years), Oakdale Community Sharing, Pres. nine years; Oakdale Joint Unified School District trustee since 2001. Oakdale Citizen of the Year ’04.

Bill Dyer is a highly qualified, well-educated gentleman with aspirations to continue serving our schools in the best way possible. He is dedicated to provide the best educational experiences as possible for all students regardless of their learning abilities, or life-time goals.

I encourage you to join me in re-electing William (Bill) Dyer to the Oakdale Joint Unified School District Board.

Joyce Reed
