Willette Hughine Hults, 97, passed away on October 22, 2014 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, California. She was born on August 03, 1917 in Gunn, Wyoming to Richard and Bertie (VerBryke) Roberts. The family moved to Oakdale when Willette was just a young girl.  She graduated from Oakdale High School and she remained an Oakdale resident for the remainder of her 97 years. Willette met and married Ira Sterling Hults in 1950 in Oakdale, CA. They were happily married for 46 years. Willette began a career as a civil servant at Sharp Army Depot in Stockton, California where she retired in 1973 after more than 20 years of service. Willette was a wonderful hostess and often had friends over for dinner and a friendly game of bridge. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having her family over for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She enjoyed golfing and sewing and was a very talented artist. She became passionate about china painting which earned her many ribbons and awards. Willette was a member of the Oakdale Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1961 and Deputy Grand Matron for the Grand Chapter of California in 1964.Willette was preceded in death by her husband Ira Hults, her parents Richard and Bertie (VerBryke) Roberts of Oakdale, CA, brothers Will Roberts, Hugh Roberts, Richard “Bubber” (Dee) Roberts, Jack (Lorraine) Roberts, and Ted (Wilma) Roberts, and son in-law Roger Hermanson. Willette is survived by her daughter Frances Hermanson of Oakdale, CA; her granddaughters Lynda Raven of Knights Ferry, CA; Barbara McLaughlin of Livingston, CA; Lisa Raven of Oakdale, CA, and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Oakdale, CA at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21.
