Theodora E. ‘Teddy’ Cayton, 91, died Friday, March 22 of a short term illness in Oakdale.

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a resident of Oakdale for 70 years.

Mrs. Cayton was a retired lab technician from Hunt Wesson.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was involved with Y.L.I. (Young Ladies Institute), Pioneer Women’s Bowling League, Legion of Mary, St. Mary’s Altar Society, and P.T.A. She was also a Campfire leader, a room mom, a swim instructor at Royce Memorial Pool, and a chaperone at Central High School.

She is survived by her children, Rosemary Cayton, Louise (Raymond) Leverett, and Valery (Richard) Downing; sisters, Consita Newell, Rosie Moga; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor P. Cayton; parents, Banifacio and Serila Magbuhos; and brother, Mariano Magbuhos.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 26 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery on J Street. A reception will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Center.

Remembrances may be made to Y.L.I. at St. Mary’s or to the American Cancer Society.
