Terry Lee Jones, 78, died Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Oak Valley District Hospital.
He was born the son of Lee Jones and Alpha Stevens.
He grew up and resided in Oakdale until his death.
He started working in the family business, Oakdale Concrete and Pipe Yard, at a very young age and was a driving force in creating the Concrete Ready-Mix Division of that business. He then worked for Holman Industries, Buzzard Canyon Moss-Covered Rock, and was a partner in another family business, Warner Sand and Gravel, in Hickman. He was also part-owner of Oakdale Realty.
Mr. Jones loved his family, working in business, hot-rodding, and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Georgia Lee; children, Jerry (Maureen) Jones, Doug Jones, all of Oakdale; grandchildren, Brenda (Shawn) Kiely, Anita (Luis) Garza, Summer (Stephen) Ratcliff, Nicholas Jones; great-grandchildren, Emma, Cole, Nico, Savannah, Mia, and Fischer; step-grandchildren, Amber (Phil) Tretheway, Michael Sosinsky; step great-grandchildren, Jack and Gwen; and his step-siblings, Ron Stevens, Sylvia Nixon, and Carol Monkress.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. F St. A reception will be held immediately following the service at River Paradise Estates Clubhouse, 900 Old Stockton Road.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to his favorite charity, the Oakdale Children’s Guardian Home.
