Shirley Jean Serpa of Oakdale, CA passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89. She was born in Greenwood, PA and moved to San Francisco in the early 50’s to be with her sister. She worked at Pacific Bell until she met and married her husband Vernon L. Serpa in 1954. They lived in Hayward, CA on the family ranch until 1973 when they moved to a ranch in Knights Ferry. She was a homemaker and did the bookwork for the family business up until 2005. She devoted her time to her family. Shirley Leaves behind two sons, Vernon J (Karen) and David, as well as her two granddaughters, Shae and Katherine and brother Wayne Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon L. Serpa, two sisters Irene Laird and Dolores Mischenko, and one brother Les Peterson. Viewing was at Oakdale Memorial Chapel on December 13 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service on December 14 at 10 a.m. at the Knights Ferry Cemetery in Knights Ferry, CA.
