Shirley Ann Vieira, resident of Oakdale California, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021 at the age of 83. Shirley was born to Lillian and Paul Isham on August 11, 1937 in Oakland, California. She spent many years of her life in the Livermore valley before moving with her husband to Oakdale 20 years ago.
Shirley was an amazing woman who gave so much, not only to her family, but to her community. She spent almost 30 years working for the small claims court in Alameda County where she retired as a district supervisor.
Throughout her life, Shirley’s passion was her horses. She was an accomplished equestrian participating in riding, jumping, and showing horses for most of her life. Shirley shared this passion with many younger riders and worked with them, training them in horsemanship.
In her later years, Shirley participated in the Oak Valley Hospital Women’s Auxiliary where she served on its board of directors. Shirley spearheaded the “Bear Hugs” program which provides cuddle bears to children in medical emergency situations.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, George Vieira. She is survived by her children Loren Studley (Kim), and John Studley (Annette), five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to invite all her friends to a celebration of life and luncheon to be held on May 23, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at the Oakdale Sportsmen’s Club, 840 N. Stearns Road, Oakdale, CA.
