Rodney Lewis LT bw

Rodney Lowell Lewis Jr. was born April 14, 1977 in Modesto, California to Rodney & Sue Lewis and entered into rest on Dec. 21, 2015. He grew up in Modesto and Oakdale, California amongst a loving family and friends. He attended Oakdale High School, then while working for his father at Lewis Mechanical, Rodney completed trade school and became a journeyman pipefitter. He continued in this trade for his entire life. Rodney’s first best friend was Grandpa Cook, going everywhere and doing everything his grandpa did, even adopting his love of white T-shirts and jeans. Rodney had an infectious personality and a zest for life that drew everyone to him. He treated his friends as family and had an unconditional love for his dogs. Rodney had a life-long passion for riding and working on his dirt bikes and ATVs, which he had recently advanced this hobby into a business hand-crafting swing arms for three wheelers. Rodney was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Noel Cleo Cook and Dick Lewis, grandmother Ruby Lewis, mother Sue Thiel and his good boys Marley and Grinder. Rodney leaves behind his grandmother Betty Cook, father Rod Lewis, brothers, Steven and Timmy; sisters, Abra, Kelli and Wendi and his new pup Axel. Rodney was greatly loved and will be missed by many, who have always known him to be a strong, hard- working, intelligent and soft hearted man. The viewing will be at Oakdale Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 3 p.m.-7 p.m. The funeral service will also be at Oakdale Memorial Chapel on Friday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. and following Rodney will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery.
