“Dodie, how are you?”
“I am blessed,” spoke her grateful voice.
Dodie, short for Roberta Baker, was born on May 26, 1931 and went peacefully home to her heavenly Father on October 20, 2019. Hardworking and full of life, Dodie spent her 88 years serving God and loving others. She worked full time until age 77 in the nursing profession, first as a surgical nurse and a Director of Nurses, and then as a medical massage therapist and owner/instructor of Touching for Health Center and School in Stockton, CA.
Dodie’s children, grand and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Spreading the love of her Lord and Savior with a hug or an encouraging word typified her life as she touched all who came across her path.
Dodie is survived by her daughter Michelle Duttera of Oakdale, CA; daughter Dr. Deborah Kerlin of Reno, NV; son Stephen Kerlin of Portland, OR; two grandchildren Shawna Johnson and Nathan Duttera, and two great grandchildren.
To rejoice and appreciate her life on earth as well as her homecoming in heaven, a celebration service will be held at The River Church, 1351 E. G St., in Oakdale, on Saturday, November 16th at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (billygraham.org/checkout/give-honor-memorial) or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
