Reid Brundage Paige, 76, died Thursday, May 10.

He was a native of Virginia and lived in Oakdale since 1990.

Mr. Paige was a former Marine Corps and commercial airline pilot.

He was a reserved, reflective and loving person by nature. His full dedication to his family and his broader Christian community was always evident to those who knew him. He was closely involved with the day-to-day affairs of his church and was always willing to help with the outreach programs serving the needs of his local community.

He took his family on many trips in his RV over the years, from 25-mile swim meet day trips to cross-country round trips. He had once considered a fulltime RV lifestyle.

Family life for him and his wife was always about staying close and connected, with activities like whole family Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings, and many family reunions.

He was a loyal friend and a person who could be relied on for calm, reasoned advice and loving support.

Survivors include his wife, Ann of Oakdale; children, Nancy (Alan) Rutter, Bud (Patty) Paige, all of Manteca, Kirk (Vicky) Paige of Los Altos, Todd (Cindy) Paige of Selma; sisters, Shirley (Gerald) of Hamilton, Mont., Ann (Harry) Packard of San Diego, Mary Ellen Marquand of Carlsbad; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17 at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 101 S. First Ave., Oakdale.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Matthias Anglican Church, P.O. Box 26, Oakdale, CA 95361.
