Pete Valencia Jr., 58, died Tuesday, May 14.

He was born in Modesto, but grew up in Oakdale.

Mr. Valencia was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked for Modesto City Schools for four years and then became a cooker for Con-Agra Foods for the last six years.

He loved camping, fishing, casinos and especially barbequing for his family. He was a huge supporter of his nephew and niece Ricky and Kensee Silva.

He was a member of several groups such as, The Old Fisherman’s Club, E Clampus Vitus Chapter 58, and The Moose Lodge 1608.

He was a precious person and a memory to be cherished.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dottie Valencia; son, Peter Valencia; mother, Hazel Lopez; father-in-law, Thomas Hamilton; brother-in-laws, Kirk Hamilton and Kenneth Mc Knight; sisters, Clara Baca, Ramona Lemos, Vera Northcutt, Christina Dahn and their families; grandchildren, Joshua and Jasmine Valencia; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delfin Lopez; brother, Harry Valencia; and uncle, Bennie Baca.

Viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 at Eaton Family Funeral Service, 513 12th St., Modesto. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E. Whitmore Ave., Ceres.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his honor to Alexander Cohen Hospice House of Hughson.
