Oleta Faye Petrey “Nana” let go of her family’s hands, and grabbed her late husband  Arthur’s right hand and God’s left hand, as she ascended into Heaven on September 24, 2014 at the home of her Daughter and Son-in-Law in East Oakdale.         Nana was born on September 10, 1933 in Trenton, Missouri to Goldie Faye McAtee and George Polley. She was pre-deceased by Her Loving Husband Arthur Petrey Jr. just two weeks before their 62nd Anniversary.  She was also pre-deceased by her sister Eva Dean Reeves and both her parents.

     Oleta spent her last days immersed in the Love of Her Family and Friends. She Skyped and watched video messages sent daily from her Great-Grandchildren Madison and Tripp as well as visited with family and friends at home and on the phone. She was able to meet for the first time, and hold her newest Great-Grandchild, 3 month old “Evee” from Maine.  She said she “was truly Blessed and felt so Loved.” Oleta, “Nana”, was a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend as well as being a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and GREAT- Grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

     Oleta and Arthur followed Cheryl and Eric to Oakdale three years ago after living in Ventura for 40 years and Coalinga for 20 years prior to that.  She spent her working career with JC Penny and Security Pacific Bank.

     She is survived by her Daughter, Cheryl Lynn Johansen, Her “Favorite” Son-in-Law Eric P. Johansen, (Inside Joke), and their children Melissa Faye (Attila), JJ (Julie), ChelseaLee, and Heather (Joseph).  She is also survived by her son Arthur “Stephen” Petrey III (Mary) and their children Irwin (Vanessa), Nicole (Rob), Alisha, and Erika (Mike) as well as her Great-Grandchildren Tripp, Bailey, Sophia, Madison Faye, Cali, Layla and her newest Evelynn Penny. She also survived by her Brother Bob (Lavada) Polley. She also leaves behind numerous friends and relatives.

     Pall Bearers will be Stephen Petrey, J.J. Johansen, Joseph Simpson, Attila Kolek, Richard Rogers, and Eric P. Johansen

     Arrangements are being handled by Oakdale Memorial Chapel located at 830 West F Street Oakdale, California 95361 where there will be visitation on Friday evening  October 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day, Saturday October 4th at 11:00am at the Lighthouse Baptist Church located at 162 North 2nd Street Oakdale, California. Burial service will immediately follow at Citizens Cemetery.
