Mary Catherine Whitmire (Wiggins) born March 29, 1927 in Grapevine, Arkansas passed away peacefully July 1, 2018.

Mary went to be with her heavenly family at the age of 91. Prior to retiring she was a housekeeper at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, CA. A job she truly loved.

She leaves behind her son, Howell Hunter; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Hunter; grandsons, Jerry and Raymond Hunter Sr.; granddaughter, Michelle Valverde; great-grandsons, Raymond Hunter Jr. and Tyler Hunter, all of Oakdale, CA; one sister, Betty Stephens of Virginia; and many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Whitmire of Salinas, CA; parents, Tom and Doris Wiggins of Sheridan, Arkansas; sisters, Jessie Lee Wiggins of Arkansas, and Lucille Urban of Wisconsin; brothers, Charles “Raymond” Wiggins of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Berry Lee Wiggins of Florida.

Mary was a collector of Depression glass and Avon collectables. She also had a large doll collection. She enjoyed her weekends and garage sales, looking for items to add to her collections.

A private graveside service was held on July 14, 2018 at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. The family request remembrances be made in donations to Community Hospice of Stanislaus County.
