Lucas Gonzales Jr., age 71 passed away on March 9, 2018 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA. Lucas was born in Drew, Mississippi on August 20, 1946. He moved to Farmington, CA in 1961 and spent the last 40 years of his life residing in Oakdale, CA.
Lucas enlisted in the Air Force in 1965, where he served as an Air Policeman in the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1969. He married his wife, Patricia Marie Settlemyre in 1972 and they had one child together, Ronda. Lucas was a very proud Grandpa, and loved to watch his two grandsons play baseball. He was adventurous, and often wandered to his favorite places, Hawaii and Alaska. He also loved to fish, hunt, and ride his bike.
Lucas was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and his parents Lucas Sr. and Mary Gonzales. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ronda and son-in-law Jeff (Nunes), two grandsons Colt Parshall and Landon Nunes, and his six siblings Mel Gonzales, Jasper Gonzales, Brijida Call, Gabe Gonzales, Amelia Blom, and Esther Ubaldi.
There will be a celebration of life for Lucas on Monday, April 9 at 1 p.m. at Bloomingcamp Ranch, located at 10528 State Highway 120, Oakdale, CA. His daughter and her family will be honoring his wishes and spreading a portion of his ashes in Hawaii, with his final resting place being at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Ca.
