Lorraine V. DeSimas, 80, died Sunday, June 13 in Modesto after battling Alzheimer’s.

She was born on Jan. 28, 1930 in Snelling and was a lifelong resident of Oakdale. She was a housewife and was involved in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, FES, UPEC and SES.

She had a love for her family, animals, arts and crafts and treasured her friendships.

Survivors include her children, Charlotte (Al) Bairos of Oakdale, Charlyn Bairos of Oakdale, Charmaine Cusenza of Monterey, Charlayne (Robert) Bowman of Sacramento and Charla ‘Annie’ DeSimas (Craig) Davis of Oakdale; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William DeSimas; parents, Joe and Mamie Parriera; and brother, Frank Parriera.

Rosary will be Monday, June 21 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale with a funeral service on Tuesday, June 22 at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery at 10 a.m.

Remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Society or Hospice.
