Loris “June” Schaafsma, 90, of Upland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2016. June was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 4, 1925. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Peter, and her infant children Sharon and Brent; she is survived by her loving children, Don and his wife Holly, David, and Deanne Dalrymple; grandchildren, Kate Brofft and her husband Tobe, Kylie Hansen and her husband Taylor, and Courtney Seymour; as well as nieces Diane Paul, Donna McInteer, nephew Larry Wesson, his wife Eileen and many other loving family members. June was involved for many years in the dairy and cattle industries in Oakdale. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount and a long time supporter of their ministerial internship program.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Reformed Church Internship Program or the City of Hope.
