Lawrence Gordon McClendon, Sr., 96, died Monday, Feb. 8 at Oak Valley Hospital.

Mr. McClendon was a native of Arkansas. He lived in Oakdale 90 years.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a machine operator at Hershey Foods for 13 years.

He is survived by his children, Lawrence McClendon, Jr. of Michigan, Kathy Terpstra of Oakdale, Bert McClendon of Oakdale, and Charles McClendon of Modesto; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
