Kevin Dean “Pata” Patton, 55, died Monday, Sept. 24 in Oakdale.

He was born in San Jose to Luella Frances Novacek and Ivan Charles Patton. Although he lived in Fremont and Reno, Nevada most of his life, he considered Oakdale to be his hometown. He moved to Oakdale in 2008 to live close to his daughter and grandchildren.

Mr. Patton was a carpenter for 39 years and a proud Dad and “Pata.” He loved spending time with his family, playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, and taking care of his dog, Bernie.

His deepest desire was to be home with his Lord and Savior and also with his parents and little brother.

He is survived by his daughter, Shantell Marie (Gary Lee) Brightman; brothers, Darwin Charles Patton, Rick Glen Patton, and Mike Warren Patton; two grandchildren; and many “adopted” family and friends.

A life celebration will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at River Oak Grace Community Church, 7712 Rodden Road, Oakdale. This will be a potluck event, so please bring a dish, side, or salad.
