Julia Elizabeth Josephson (Betty), 97, died on Sept. 3, 2014.

She was born May 13, 1917 to parents Dora Hamilton and Robert E Lee Wertz in Saluda, South Carolina. She lived in Florida, San Francisco and was a resident of Oakdale for 43 years. She survived both the Depression and great Miami hurricane. She had three children and was a devoted mother and Nana.

Survivors include her daughter Helen (Briggs) Moore and son Jim Briggs; grandchildren Troy Haynes, Julie (Haynes) Gilbert, Allee (Haynes) Snyder, Nicole (Briggs) Sandkulla and Jamie Briggs; great grandchildren, Mckenzie Gilbert, Mia Gilbert, Kyle King, Justin Haynes, Alex Sandkulla, Holly Sandkulla, Paige Briggs and Zachary Briggs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Josephson, daughter Allee Butler and granddaughter Gena Haynes.

Services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. at St John/St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4606 Michigan Ave., Valley Home.

Burial will be Sept. 16 at noon at Olivet Memorial Park in Daly City.
