Joseph Dean “JD” Arrighi, passed away peacefully, on February 11, 2020. JD was born on November 15, 1947 in Seattle, Washington to Joseph and Dorothy Arrighi.
His siblings are Walt Schmidt and (late) sister Patti Mestas. JD graduated from Pomona High School in 1965. Following graduation JD served in the special forces of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife Corrine Arrighi, of 46 years married. His sons are Eric Arrighi, Trevor (Kelly) Arrighi, daughter Tessa (Layton) McDonald and step son, Jeffery Steele. As well as 11 grandchildren, Aniston (angel), Berklee (4), Brynn (7), Hudson (9), Ace (10), Kate (11), Leah (14), Owen (15), Keegan (15), Gradey (19) and Griffin (21). In 1989, JD moved his family from Southern California to Oakdale California to be closer to his family. JD was effortlessly involved in the lives of his children and even more, grandchildren, for they brought him his greatest happiness. Aside from serving his family, JD enjoyed playing the drums with the Oakdale Community Band.
He was someone who never stopped. Not even a day in the hospital until eight months ago when his lung cancer journey began. But in true JD form he fought it with honor and dignity. We hang our heads in sorrow but also lift them in joy knowing he is safe in the arms of Jesus now. A celebration of life service will be held on March 7th at LifePoint Church, 120 West Avenue in Oakdale California, at 1:30 p.m. Following the service will be a gathering with food and fellowship.
