Josefina Lopez Linarez, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Oct. 13.
She was born in La Loma, Michoacan, Mexico. She was a resident of Oakdale since 1990.
Mrs. Linarez was a very strong and determined woman. She was a wonderful woman having to be mother and father at the same time. Her husband died 50 years ago, which had left her to take care of her six children by herself.
She will not be forgotten.
She is survived by her children, Virginia Linarez, Hermelinda Duarte, Gloria Quintana, Refugio Vasquez, Lucina Arevalo, Miguel Linarez; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Viewing will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a rosary to start at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Riverbank Memorial Chapel, 3131 Santa Fe, Riverbank. Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 at St. Francis of Rome church, Riverbank. The funeral will be at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery following mass.
