Harold Everett Wright, a resident of Oakdale passed away on Wednesday, April 11, at the age of 91 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Cora Wright and his wife and son Dorothy and Randy Wright. He is survived by his children Cindy Smart, Sharon Ozbirn (Bob) and Marci Wright, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and his brother, Merle Wright of Santa Rosa.
Harold was born on April 30, 1926 in French Camp and graduated from Ripon Christian High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy after graduation and served aboard the USS Baltimore and achieved the rank Seaman First Class for two years during World War II. He was a mechanic and then car salesman for Sondeno Pontiac, Erkenbrecher’s Chevrolet-Buick and Steves Chevrolet. He enjoyed playing softball on the Bethel Assembly Church team as the pitcher and camping with his family in Yosemite and Pinecrest. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to the Bahamas and several trips to Hawaii with friends. He was a loving husband and father and faithfully served at Bethel Assembly Church. In later years he enjoyed bowling at his residence at Bethel Retirement Community. His legacy to his children is a faithful Christian man who loved and served the Lord well his entire life. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Oakdale and Memorial Service and reception immediately following at Life Community Church, 105 East G St., Oakdale.
