Guy Joseph Miceli, dedicated husband, father of two, grandfather to three, and friend to many departed this earthly life on December 17, 2022 at the age of 92 at his home in Oakdale.

Guy was born in San Rafael, California to immigrant parents Lena (Lesnini) Miceli and Guy Nicola Miceli on February 28, 1930. At a young age Guy’s father moved the family to Italy. After World War II broke out the family moved to New York until 1947, at which time they moved back to California.

After graduating from Oakdale High School in 1949, Guy entered the United States Air Force in 1950. After completing four years of active duty, Guy attended and graduated in 1960 from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. He immediately went to work for the Riverbank School District as a teacher for three years and an administrative assistant until which time he decided to get his administrative credential in 1980. In addition to his administrative duties, Guy loved coaching basketball, track, and wrestling at Cardozo school. Guy became the principal of California Avenue and Milnes schools until his retirement in 1990.

Guy spent his retirement dedicated to his family, God, community, and fun. He was an active member of Oakdale Golf and Country Club and served as the Senior Men’s Captain for many years. When he wasn’t on the golf course with his buddies or traveling with his wife, he was contributing to his community. He was a past President of Oakdale Lions Club and Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. He also participated and contributed time to the Gladys Lemmons Senior Community Center and Community Sharing. Guy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He served as lector and eucharistic minister for many years.

He leaves his wife, Charliene of 54 years; two children, Nicole Miceli Araya (Jeff) and Joseph Charles Miceli; and three grandchildren, Paolo, Gabriella, and Jessica.

Visitation is Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oakdale Riverbank Memorial Chapel followed by a rosary from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral mass is on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, PO Box 600, Oakdale, CA 95361. Oakdale Citizens Cemetery is a registered 501c(13) tax deductible organization with the IRS.
