Gordon Albert Pimley was born on December 12, 1926 to parents William Gordon and Frances Helen (Cole) Pimley in Hayward CA. He entered into eternal repose on November 5, 2016 at his home in Oakdale. Gordon moved from Hayward to Oakdale at the age of 12. He was an altar boy at Saint Mathias Church where his mother played the organ. Gordon signed up for the Navy on December 11, 1944, and entered after he graduated high school in 1945. He served through 1946 and became inactive until he was honorably discharged on July 27, 1950.
On April 7, 1951 he wed the love of his life, Victoria Jean Ransom. On April 7, 2016 they celebrated 65 years of marriage. During that time Gordon worked for AT&T for 35 years. Upon retirement he worked his ranch full time. Gordon was one-in-a-million. He lived life to the fullest and was kind, considerate, loving, and hard-working and was a positive influence to everyone. Gordon was a member of the Oakdale Dinner Club, Sportsman Club, Oakdale Golf & Country Club and St Mary’s Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the hunting trips he planned with his three sons, as well as his fishing trips to Alaska.
Gordon is survived by his three sons: Dave (Vicki) of Utah, Tom (Kelly) of Oakdale, and Tim (girlfriend Cindy Murphy) of Oakdale; seven grandchildren: David (Gina) Pimley, Sara (Tim) Parola, Heather (Jeremy) Palmer, Daniel (Amelia) Pimley, Ryan (Loriann) Pimley, Marissa (Jef) Viss, and Kaitlyn Pimley; 11 great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, June Taylor, a brother-in-law Edward (Anne) Ransom, and a sister-in-law Amy Ransom; five nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Jean; his parents, W.G. and Frances Pimley; his parents-in-law, Harold and Louise Ransom; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Taylor and Kenneth Ransom. The family would like to thank Gordon’s caregivers: Rosa Cardoso, Linda Soliece, Tammy Weathereal and Jessika Sutton. The family is grateful to them for the care they provided Gordon.
A visitation, Rosary, and funeral mass were held Thursday and Friday, November 10th and 11th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale. Donations may be made to St Mary’s Catholic Church, 1225 Olive St., Oakdale CA 95361.
