Eldon Lee Angle, a loving husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the age of 76 at Memorial North Hospital, Modesto, California. Eldon was born November 27, 1942, in Portales, New Mexico, to Randawl Dee and Margaret Angle. Eldon began as a teenager following in the footsteps of his Father and Uncles developing carpentry skills and building houses. His mechanical skills jump started when he worked as a mechanic for Sondeno Pontiac Dealership in Oakdale. He continued focus on enhancing his personal mechanical skills and knowledge. He had approximately 23 years combined experience as Production Industrial Maintenance at Gallo Winery, Franzia Winery and Bronco Winery. He topped off his career with nine years of service as Production Industrial Maintenance for the Hershey Chocolate factory, where he and Adele retired from. Eldon was a gifted mechanic that loved rebuilding classic cars. He loved to work on projects in his home shop such as building train sets, model airplanes, and refurbishing those classic cars. He had a strong work ethic and attention to detail. His passion was the love of his horses and competing in cowboy shootings. His favorite past-time was going on long drives with his beloved wife Adele, and traveling to new places.

Two of his favorite trips he fondly remembered were the trip to Mount Rushmore with his wife and a trip to Hawaii with his grandchildren. Eldon was the neighborly type to always go out of his way to help both friends and strangers. Eldon is survived by his wife Adele Angle, sister Glenda Sue Gayhart, Aunts Opal Angle, and Ida Angle, sons Derek Brown (Diane) and Duane Angle, grandchildren, Lexi Brown, Riley Brown, Sara Otto (Benji), brother-in-law Bill Shipman (Janice), nephew Derek Shipman (Natalie), niece Hilary Shipman Aviles (Saul) great nieces, Angelina Aviles, Lily Shipman, Josephine Shipman, cousins Don Angle, Randy Angle, Carolyn Hill, Larry Norton, Wayne Norton, Ronnie Norton, Judy Strobel, David Angle, and Dixie Angle. Eldon is also survived by close friends Jim and Connie Tanquary, Gary and Olean Shipman, and Jim and Georgette Leach. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents Randawl Dee and Margaret Angle, son Jimmy Angle, daughter Shannon Angle, brother Randawl Leroy Angle, and sister Lenda Brashier. Eldon is also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Howard and Josephine Shipman.

Funeral services will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Oakdale, CA 95361 on Thursday, December 27 at 10 a.m. with graveside services at Lakewood Cemetery, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326 following at 12 p.m. Family visitation is on Wednesday, December 26 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. There will be a memorial luncheon at the Fruit Yard Restaurant at 7948 Yosemite Blvd., Modesto, CA 95357 at 1 p.m. following the graveside service. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Alzheimer’s Association.
