DR. LYNN C. BURROUGHS

Dr. Lynn C. Burroughs MD took his final breath on this earth at 2:14 p.m. on the 28th of March 2021. He passed peacefully with his daughter by his side and was surrounded with love from near and far. Lynn, 75, was a dynamic genius who chose a life dedicated to helping others as a family physician in Oakdale, CA for over 32 years. Lynn married his college sweetheart, Barbara, and their marriage spanned over 51 years. They created two beloved children who continue to carry his legacy of service and kindness through their lives.
During “Doc” Burroughs’ selfless career he saved thousands of lives, extended thousands more, delivered many babies, made house-calls to those who could not leave their home, gave food to patients who seemed hungry and gave dignity to those who left our world with humility and compassion. He spread joy (and possible insult) with his dirty jokes, annoyed many with his infamous “email list” and made so many smile with his booming laugh. He loved his dogs, watching sports, his 14 acres in Knights Ferry, and his old Ford tractor more than life itself. He made all of his friends feel like family and he loved hard and fierce. Through his very long battle with dementia he kept his ornery sense of humor, his passionate pride in his family as well as a loyalty to his friends and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Burroughs, his son Lt. Col. Rett Burroughs (Justina), their children Neal, Nolan and Noora Burroughs; his daughter Megan Brezovar (Jay); his “bonus” son Connor Medeiros (Kyle); his brother Jerry Burroughs DVM (Karla); as well as so many family and friends who loved him dearly. His family would also like to thank the staff of Churchill Estates in Eugene, OR for their incredible care and kindness while he lived there as a resident.
In honor of his 28 years as the Oakdale High School Mustangs’ football sideline doctor the family asks, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Oakdale Quarterback Club, 5207 River Road, Oakdale, CA 95361.
