Diana Lynn (Cox) Brannon died Monday, Feb. 1 of a long-term illness.

She was born in Tulare. She was an Oakdale resident.

She was employed a number of years as a substance abuse counselor.

She was a very caring person who went out of her way to help others. She opened her heart and door to many families, especially children in need of a home. She became ‘grandma’ to everyone she met. She enjoyed life, spending time with her loved ones, and watching her family grow.

She was a great sister, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Mills Martin of Oakdale, Raena Gunsolus of Modesto; son, Joseph Lee Mills, Jr. of Tulare; sisters, Mary Laraby, Joann Rutherford; brother, Raymond Cox; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brannon; parents, Gladys and Louie Cox; and siblings, Ellsworth Cox, Helen Martinez, and Jeannie Looney.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Oak Valley Community Church, 175 Bryan Ave., Oakdale. The family asks that friends join them at this time to remember her and be prepared to share memories.
