Cheri Melody Jones, 65, of Oakdale died Monday, Feb. 3 at Alexander Cohen Hospice, Hughson.

She was born Cheri Melody Gowens in San Bernardino.

She was a loving sister to all her siblings and sometimes her heart was too big. Many will miss her.

Mrs. Jones loved her family, Betty Boop, ceramic frogs, and country music. Some of her happiest times were with her family, dining, racing cars at Boomers and Easter egg hunting. She really enjoyed the holidays and good food.

She is survived by her brothers, Gilbert E. (Joanne) Guerts of Kentucky, Gary J. (June) Gowens of Oregon, Larry L. Reynolds of San Bernardino; sisters, Sandra J. Reynolds of Merced, Dawn M. (Joseph) Hipsher of Orland; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; great-great nephew, Timothy; and great-great niece, Marley Mae.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jones; her parents; brothers, Bruce Douglas Guerts, Terry Michael Stoddard; special nephew, Gary T.L. Reynolds; special niece, Aimee Renee Reynolds.

Per her wishes, her family had her cremated to join her husband’s ashes to be scattered together during a private family memorial.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to hospice or to cancer research.
