Charles (Chuck) was born on May 7, 1936, in San Francisco, California. He passed on November 10, 2018. Chuck was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and he was a dear friend.

He loved his family, roping, his horses, hunting, and watching football. He was always available for his many friends. Chuck was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #3 for 60 years, a PRCA Member and Gold Card holder, and an Oakdale Quarterback Club member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Louise Pennington; and his sister, Nancy Cook. He is survived by his loving wife, Jody; children, Will (Jody) Pennington, Nancy Pennington, Tim Merzon, Trent (Spring) Merzon; grandchildren, Charles, Noelle, Amanda, Mickey, and Morgan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Chuck made a difference in the lives of many. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life was held in his honor on November 19, 2018, at the Oakdale Rodeo Grounds.
