Barbara Balint

Barbara Helet Balint passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband Sandor Balint, his children Atilla and Anita Balint and her children Caroline and Kerrin Murphy as well as her many friends and extended family who she kept in contact with for decades, in some cases. Barbara was born in Greenford England and moved to Palo Alto when she was 20. She had many jobs over the years and enjoyed the social aspect and camaraderie of being with people. This led her, after she retired, to seek out a new social group. Being a Christian woman of faith she found a home at Saint Matthias in Oakdale, where she has lived and loved for the past 20 years with her husband Sandor. Barbara was a kind, sweet and generous person. Everywhere she went she smiled at people and said hello, so people remembered her for being genuinely friendly. She was devoted to her dogs and loved all creatures. She always had a positive outlook on her life, no matter how challenging, and never gave up hope. Recently, it was said, “We lost a songbird on a winter’s day.” She also had a wicked sense of humor! She absolutely loved to mischievously tell inappropriate jokes at inappropriate times. And then she would laugh so loudly, no one would mind … usually. A service followed by lunch, reception/celebration, will be held on January 28th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Saint Matthias Anglican Church at 107 S. First Avenue, Oakdale, CA 95361.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local SPCA in her honor.
