It is with great sadness that the family of Rachel Marie Azevedo (Tobias) announces her passing after a two-and-a-half year battle with cancer, on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the age of 35 years old. Rachel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 12 years, John Azevedo and their two precious children, Mia (6) and Max (5), her parents Edward and Darlene Tobias, two sisters Tiffany (Blake Trinkler), Natalie (Mark Kesterson), grandparents Horace and Georgina Rocha, in-laws John and Debbie Azevedo, Matt (Jenn), Annie, Teresa (Eric Azevedo). Rachel will also be forever remembered by her extended family and friends.

Rachel was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Patterson. She was an English teacher at Gustine High School, Patterson High School, and most recently Elliott High School. Rachel had a small photography business and enjoyed working with all her clients especially those that turned into friends. She graduated Oakdale High School in 2001, California State University Stanislaus in 2006, and achieved her master’s degree in Education from Chapman University. Rachel was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. With her infectious smile, gorgeous eyes and loving heart she welcomed so many into her home and life. Many loved and adored her, and she will be greatly missed in our community. She was kind, funny, witty, smart, generous, strong-willed, creative, and artistic. She enjoyed reading, photography, horses, camping, traveling, social gatherings, and soccer. Rachel will be remembered as a strong and beautiful individual, but most importantly for being a great friend with a beautiful soul.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 6th at 7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 7th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson.
