Miss Rodeo Oakdale 2022 goes to born and raised Oakdale native Katie Serpa.

The reigning Miss Rodeo Oakdale Karissa Rogers passed on the title to the new queen during her coronation at the Oakdale Cowboy Museum during the evening of Thursday, April 7.

Surrounded by fellow queens and princesses from several neighboring rodeos, Serpa accepted her crown and title and offered a heartfelt acceptance speech.

“Receiving this is a very good feeling, I have wanted this all of my life,” Serpa stated. “I am born and raised in Oakdale so the rodeo has always had a special place in my heart.”

Serpa is excited to not only represent the sport of rodeo but also her hometown.

“My advice to any future queens wanting to run is to just have confidence, believe in yourself, and enjoy every minute.”

The newly crowned Rodeo Queen will go on to represent Oakdale at many rodeos and events in the upcoming year and she started her reign by taking part in this year’s Rodeo parade on Saturday morning and the Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds festivities on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10.
