New Initiative Helps Incoming Warriors

Stanislaus State is launching VALLE – Valley Access for Latino and Immigrant Education – a pilot initiative designed to help incoming immigrant, first-generation, farmworker-connected and undocumented students and their families navigate the transition to college. Supported by a $9,000 Adelante Fund grant through the Stanislaus Community Foundation, the initiative will include a five-day transition program, bilingual family workshops and opportunities to build community and connection. The pilot program’s organizer is available to discuss the initiative, the needs it is designed to address and the importance of involving families in the college transition.

Stanislaus State earned five stars – Money.com’s highest rating – in the publication’s 2026-27 Best Colleges list, marking the University’s third consecutive year receiving the distinction. Stan State was one of 42 institutions nationwide to earn five stars and one of only 17 public four-year universities in that top category. Money evaluates colleges on affordability, quality of education and outcomes, including graduation rates, student debt and earnings after college. The recognition reflects the value Stan State delivers through affordable access, strong faculty support and career outcomes that continue well beyond graduation.
