Stockton Campus Dean

Sarah Sweitzer, the new dean of the Stanislaus State Stockton Campus, doesn’t get up in the morning wondering what she can do each day to make the campus reach its full potential. “I’ve been up most of the night thinking of ideas,” said Sweitzer, who joined the University in July. “What makes me excited about coming here are the people and what we can create.”

Climate Change

As the work to mitigate the impacts of climate change continues, people like Stanislaus State alumna Laura Plascencia demonstrate the power of grassroots advocacy. Plascencia, who graduated from Stan State in 2020, with a bachelor’s degree, transitioned from majoring in biology to taking on a pivotal role at the Valley Improvement Project.

Community Innovation

Join us as we unravel Monica Escamilla’s journey into entrepreneurship and innovation-rooted in her Venezuelan heritage and upbringing in Modesto. Currently serving as Center Director for the non-profit Digital NEST, Escamilla’s worldview is significantly shaped by her experiences living in a melting pot of immigrants. Her story is about understanding an individual’s position and purpose.
