Following the excitement of the successful Halloween decoration drive by route through Oakdale, this year begins a new tradition of having a Christmastime ‘holiday house’ route.

Any and all participating homes and businesses need to have their name and address submitted to coordinator Amy Velasco by Sunday, Dec. 11 by texting or calling 209-840-2273.

“Decorate your home, business, porch or lawn in the brightest, merriest and most festive way possible,” Velasco stated. “The more creative the better!”

Décor must stay up from Friday, Dec. 16 through Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25 so all community members that want to can drive by and see the holiday cheer.

This is not a contest, Velasco stressed, rather a fun way to spread more Christmas cheer throughout the community.

The drive by list will be published and shared on Wednesday, Dec. 14 with all the addresses of the participating locations.

Information regarding the sign-ups also notes that anyone who submits their house or business for inclusion on the route are agreeing to be added to the public list and understand that no one shall be liable in case of damaged or stolen property or décor.

Signing up is an easy three step process: submit the name and address to Velasco; decorate; and then leave the holiday decorations up for viewing from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily from Dec. 16 through Christmas Day.
