Blood donors turned out in strong numbers on Saturday, with a drive hosted by the Oakdale Community and the American Red Cross at the Oak Valley Medical Plaza. Here, Sherlynn Delap, at left, is tended to by Red Cross staffer Camille after her donation while Jeannie DeSimoni, at right, is in the process of donating with help from blood drive staffer Jennifer. There are typically regularly scheduled visits in the local area for the Red Cross, often at the Bianchi Community Center and also occasionally hosted at work sites and sponsored in part by local businesses.
