Perfect Union, one of California’s most-respected cannabis retail operators, announced $1,000 donations to nine animal welfare organizations in communities where they operate (or plan to expand to) including the local ASTRO Foundation.

“We at ASTRO Foundation learned about Perfect Union and their desire to support local animal welfare groups from a local ASTRO Foundation supporter,” said ASTRO President Jaydeen Vicente. “We shared with Perfect Union our mission which is to rescue and place as many tame, homeless pets from the local community as possible.”

ASTRO serves both the Oakdale and Riverbank communities.

The donations honor World Animal Day that was held on Oct. 4, which aims to create a world where animals are recognized as sentient beings and full regard is paid to their welfare.

“From day one, we’ve made it part of our mission to invest in like-minded community partners that reflect the company’s culture and mission,” said Perfect Union CEO David Spradlin. “We support animal welfare groups that work tirelessly to end animal cruelty and exploitation, so we’re proud to support the staff and volunteers who make magic happen for these animals in the face of increased demand and limited resources.”

Vicente added that Perfect Union was impressed with their efforts of saving approximately 1,000 pets each year. They presented ASTRO with a check for $1,240.

“These much needed funds will go toward general expenses for our rescue pets like medications, veterinary care, and food,” stated Vicente about how the funds will be distributed.

Perfect Union has over a decade of experience managing profitable cannabis businesses; navigating state and local laws and regulations; and adding value to the communities where they operate. The company has a proven track record of building engagement, social welfare and outreach programs that focus on local partnerships, monetary investments, and donations.

There is a Perfect Union located in downtown Riverbank on Third Street.

“We at ASTRO Foundation are nearing the finish line for the remodel of the building located at 611 East E Street in downtown Oakdale which will house the first-ever ASTRO Foundation Adoption Center,” explained Vicente. “This space will allow us to more efficiently manage adopting animals, support our fosters with centralized services, house cat and kittens in our care, and provide administrative office space. A state of the art fire alarm system, security, and exterior protection are all part of our remaining priorities. If you drive by, you will see this new banner hanging soon. Your continued support, enthusiasm and understanding is greatly appreciated.”

The Mission of World Animal Day is to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe.
