Old Fashioned Market Festivities Saturday
HOLIDAY

With full COVID-19 safety protocols in place, the 12th annual Old-Fashioned Downtown Christmas Market event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The festivities will see the closure of North Third Avenue between D and F streets as well as a portion of E Street from Yosemite Avenue to North Second Avenue.

The event, sponsored by a host of local businesses, will feature a petting zoo, DJ, pictures with Santa by Hudson Photography inside the Integrity Air location, along with up to 75 vendor booths. Among the shopping opportunities for the popular holiday event will be homemade goods, Christmas décor, candy, bakery items, gifts and more.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the following safety protocols will be in place:

Signs at all entrances requiring social distancing;

All products chosen will be picked and placed in a bag by the vendor;

All sampling will be done in accordance with the health code in a one-time usage container or wooden utensil;

All booths that are not fully contained in a canopy without sides will have tape or bungies across the front of the canopy to prevent customers from entering the booths.

Also, marks will be placed at the point of sale for customers to stand while waiting for the check-out;

There will be no food consumption on the premises to avoid congregating;

Four handwashing stations will be placed at various locations for customers and liberal usage of hand sanitizer will be encouraged.

Those planning to attend can also bring a toy to drop off at downtown merchants for the Toys for Tots campaign and there will be raffle tickets available for various drawings. All proceeds from the Downtown Christmas Market will benefit The Lions Club Children’s Shopping Tour, Community Sharing, Astro Thrift Shop and Toys for Tots.
