The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 20 through Monday, Dec. 26. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

MONDAY, DEC. 26

MFD crews performed weekly apparatus and equipment checks.

Personnel that came over from the Salida Fire contract started their in-service orientation at different locations in our organization.

Battalion 5 crews performed individual company training.

11:06 p.m. – Engine 27, E28, E29 and Battalion were dispatched to Highway 108 east of Lancaster Road for a vehicle rollover. E29 arrived with all occupants not injured. All units were canceled.

SUNDAY, DEC. 25

Crews spent the day catching up on end of the year training assignments.

Battalion 5 crews responded to several calls for service.

SATURDAY, DEC. 24

Battalion 2 Engine companies responded to various EMS calls during the shift.

Battalion 5 companies continued to work on completing annual training and FMA workload.

Companies completed weekly station maintenance.

FRIDAY, DEC. 23

Battalion 5’s Engine 9 and Engine 27 completed probationary firefighter training.

1:52 p.m. – Engine 27, Engine 28, Engine 29 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident. Engine 28 arrived to find a vehicle vs. motorcycle with one patient. Crews provided initial ALS patient care and the patient was flown from the scene to UC Davis Medical Center. Squad 11 provided coverage for Station 28. CHP investigating.

THURSDAY, DEC. 22

Battalion 2 crews performed apparatus and station maintenance.

Engine 26 performed rope systems training.

MST units for Battalion 5 conducted equipment checks and station maintenance.

MST units conducted FMA training in Station 28 area.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 21

12:52 p.m. – Engine 26 and BC2 responded to a motor vehicle accident at Atchison and Sixth Street in Riverbank. Two vehicles were found with only one driver transported with minor injuries.

Battalion 5 MST units conducted equipment checks and station maintenance.

TUESDAY, DEC. 20

Battalion 5 crews rotated through the RFTC for Records Management training.
