Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 8-24-22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Aug. 16 through Monday, Aug. 22. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, AUG. 22

No time listed – WR28, E27 and BC5 responded to a water rescue at Woodward Reservoir. Companies arrived and found a male hanging on to a buoy 100 yards offshore. WR 28 got to the male, loaded him into boat and brought him to shore safely to be evaluated.

 

SUNDAY, AUG. 21

SATURDAY, AUG. 20

Crews worked on Saturday station maintenance and clean-up and caught up on online training.

Crews conducted probationary firefighter training on auto extrication.

 

FRIDAY, AUG. 19

Crews conducted probationary training throughout the shift.

Engine 29 conducted rope rescue training.

7:19 p.m. – Engine 27, Engine 28 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident. Engine 27 arrived to find a single vehicle vs. power pole with vegetation fire (contained by citizens) and power lines down. Crews began initial patient care and the patient was flown from the scene by air ambulance to a local hospital. CHP is investigating the incident. Engine 29 provided station coverage.

 

THURSDAY, AUG. 18

Engineers’ practical exam was conducted at the RFTC.

Engine 28, with the assistance of a CalFire engine crew passing through handled an injury accident on the boundary of Stanislaus/San Joaquin counties. Crews provided patient care and traffic control until CHP arrived.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 17

E26 performed a pre-fire plan on Monschein Industries in Riverbank.

3:17 p.m. – E9, E26 and BC2 responded to the report of a vehicle accident at Plainview and Terminal. E9 reported two vehicles, with two minor patients, E26 was cancelled prior to their arrival.

E27, E28, and E29 conducted ladder training.
