Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 3-2-22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Monday, Feb. 28. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, FEB. 28

No time listed – E26, E27 and BC5 responded to a vehicle accident involving two vehicles at Highway 108 and Adams Gravel Plant Road. One patient was flown out to a hospital.

 

SUNDAY, FEB. 27

6:42 p.m. – Modesto Engines 1, 10, 18, 19, Truck 1, BC1, BC3, Stanislaus Consolidated Engine 21, Quint 22, and FIU were dispatched to a commercial working structure fire at Taco Bell in the 2900 Block of Whitmore Avenue for reports of flames from the roof of the business. Engine 18 arrived with an exterior sign on fire on the front of the business. Crews worked in the offensive mode to contain the fire to the exterior of the business with no fire extension into the business. The electrical supply to the sign was isolated and the business was able to remain open.

 

SATURDAY, FEB. 26

No times listed – Multi Company training involving MCST crews was conducted at a vacant home that is soon to be demolished in the City of Oakdale. Crews conducted several rotations working on different skills, focused on residential firefighting.

10:02 a.m. – Crews responded to Claribel and Eleanor Road for the report of a hay fire. The fire was isolated to stack of hay bales with no threat to any structures. An excavator was used to spread the hay and break apart the bales. Crews were on scene for over two hours overhauling the fire.

 

FRIDAY, FEB. 25

No times listed – Crews trained in an acquired structure on engine operations, basement fire tactics, rural water supply.
