The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce is hosting a sip and shop event in Downtown Oakdale Thursday, April 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. You’ll find a selection of wine or brews at each of the 15 participating merchants.
The Chamber wants to promote an Eat, Drink and Be Local mentality and events like Pours in Stores and Taste of Oakdale help showcase the very best of Oakdale. Shopping in your own community is a chance to have an experience. Walk on tree lined streets, meet and get to know business owners and feel good about how you invest your money. Independent businesses are owned by people who live in this community and are committed to investing in Oakdale’s future. Studies have found that locally owned businesses contribute more than twice as much of their revenue to charitable causes as corporate chains do. Pours in Stores celebrates this fact by getting patrons to sip and taste their way through Downtown. It’s a really fun evening for all.
Patrons can start their night off at one of two check-in locations; Bordona’s Furniture & Appliances - 102 W. F St. or at Lori’s Frame Shoppe - 132 N. Third Ave. These check-in locations are the starting point for your night. There you will receive your commemorative wine glass and a map of pouring locations. They will also offer the first tasting for the night. We will have fine wines, brews, hard ciders, sangrias and non-alcoholic choices. Shopping and tasting at each pouring location is a fun way to support your community and your Chamber.
The pouring begins at 5 p.m. on April 4. Pre-paid tickets are $25 or at the door for $35. You can register online at oakdalechamber.com or purchase tickets at the Oakdale Chamber, 590 N. Yosemite Ave. Additional event information can also be found on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
