With fall sports practices and scrimmages already underway and plans in place to return to a normal high school sports year, Crystal Creamery is marking the occasion with new milk cartons welcoming back student-athletes in the Sac-Joaquin, Central and North Coast Sections.
“The pandemic has been trying for all of us, especially our young people who have missed out on many big moments. While we know we aren’t out of the woods, the return of high school sports is a great reason to celebrate,” said Brian Carden, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Crystal Creamery.
Carden added, “With these milk cartons, Crystal Creamery wants to mark the occasion and remind consumers that milk is a nutrient-rich way to fuel athletic performance. That is why milk is the clear choice for athletes of all ages who choose milk to fuel their athletic performance and to repair, rehydrate and replenish their muscles and bodies.”
Crystal Creamery is a proud sponsor of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and its Sac-Joaquin, Central and North Coast Sections. Oakdale, Riverbank and Escalon are in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section.
Currently celebrating its 120th year in business, Crystal Creamery, California’s oldest dairy, has recognized the commitment, hard work and dedication it takes to compete in high school sports by placing scholar athletes, Section and State Championship teams on special milk cartons at the conclusion of each athletic season. The company began its high school sports sponsorship in 2012 to support and recognize the hard work of student-athletes, coaches and their families in more than 470 high schools across three sections throughout California. To date, the company has honored more than 300 Section-winning teams, scholar athletes and Hall of Fame members on its commemorative milk cartons.
“California has an amazing history of producing NCAA champions, Olympic Medalists and professional athletes who grew up playing high school sports in our local schools,” said Mike Garrison, Commissioner of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. “We appreciate Crystal Creamery’s continued support and share their belief that sports are critically important to the development of young men and women as the lessons they learn and experiences they receive will remain with them throughout their lives. As schools return to a traditional sports calendar, we look forward to our local communities supporting our student-athletes and returning to our athletic events this fall to cheer them on.”
