The Oakdale Sunrise Rotary is planning a brand new community-wide event for 2018. It’s called “Boots and Bows,” and is billed as a Father-Daughter Ball. This will be the inaugural Father-Daughter Ball the Rotarians will host and it’s believed to be a first ever for the city of Oakdale as well.

“We are so very excited to host this event and believe it will make a huge positive impact on the community” said Patrick Mondragon, Oakdale Sunrise Rotary member and Boots and Bows coordinator.

The event is being planned at the Gene Bianchi Community Center on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There is no age limit, so daughters of all ages are welcome to come, from elementary to high school, and beyond. And it doesn’t have to be just dads, Rotarians added. Uncles, brothers, and grandfathers are all welcome and invited to come and bring their loved one to the event.

“As Rotarians, we strive to make a difference in the community, and we believe this is a great way to do that,” said Scott Jaspar, President of Oakdale Sunrise Rotary.

Boots and Bows will feature music and dancing with a live D.J., a professional photographer, foods, games, and prizes. Organizers said this will be an opportunity for dads to take their daughters out for some quality bonding time, and a great way for dads to show their daughters how a man should treat them.

Tickets for the event are available at Steves Chevrolet, 1285 E. F St., and also Sarah’s Dry Cleaners at 1080 W. F St.

“If you are looking for a way to spend some quality time with your daughter, this event is a must,” Rotarians said.
