Don Osborne Memorial Run Slated For Saturday
Runners

With both a 5k and a one-mile run/walk event, the Oakdale Lions Club is presenting its annual Don Osborne Memorial Run on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The race begins at the Oakdale Library, corner of G Street and South First Avenue in Oakdale, and is hosted rain or shine. Many years, runners have laced up and taken off along the route with the raindrops falling but this year looks to be hosted under sunny skies.

The course is on flat, paved city streets with traffic control and this is the 26th year that the run has been hosted by the local Oakdale Lions Club.

Race day registration is available; with a cost of $25 for adults, $10 for ages 18 and under. You can contact Alan at 209-602-8821 for more information or email him at alangraham@sbcglobal.net.

There are separate male and female divisions and age groups for each race, starting with the youngest 5 and under age group up to 80-plus. Younger ages have smaller divisions: 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-19 for both races, with the older runners in nine-year increments, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-plus.

There are gift certificates to the overall male and female winners in both races, medal awards for the top three finishers in each age division for both races as well as post-race refreshments for all participants.

Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday. The one-mile run/walk is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start time, with the 5k run taking off at 9:30 a.m.

The awards ceremony follows at 10:15 a.m.
