Oak Summit Masonic Lodge #112 of Knights Ferry is supporting the annual 2015 Toys for Tots holiday toy drive. A number of collection barrels and boxes have been placed in Oakdale. They include Ace Hardware, SaveMart, Oak Valley Jewelry, Steves Chevrolet, Haidlen Ford, Suzy Belens, Pizza Hut, Saras Dry Cleaner, Kmart, Tractor Supply and Wells Fargo Bank. Donations of new, unwrapped toys will help the Toys for Tots campaign get holiday gifts to those in need.

Also, stop by a number of locations around the community to select an ‘Angel’ tag off a tree and help fill holiday wishes for specific children through the program run by the Center for Human Services (CHS) – Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center. They introduced Angel Trees to assist families in need during the holiday season and last year, trees at nine different sites were able to provide gifts for over 400 local children. This year, Angel Trees are at eight sites and plan to serve over 300 local youths. Trees are set up at Learning Tree Preschool, House of Tykes, Steves Chevrolet, Koru Power Yoga Studio (Oakdale & Turlock), 507 Salon, The Oakdale Leader, St. Mary’s Church, and Oakdale Family Church of the Nazarene. Gifts should be returned by Monday, Dec. 14.

Finally, the Family Support Network (FSN) will host its Third Annual Coats and Cookies Event on Wednesday, Dec. 9 and Thursday, Dec. 10 between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; locals in need of some warm clothing for the winter season are encouraged to stop in. Family Support Network is at 1405 W. F St., Suite A, Oakdale
